Science Experiment

Today we did an experiment for science class. It was called Change of State. Here's a video. My mom wanted me to put in my observation too, so that will be below the video. Enjoy (if you like this sort of thing)! :)

Materials:

Soda bottle

alka-seltzer tablets

water

First, we filled a soda bottle with 2 in. of cold water. Then we broke up 1 seltzer tablet and put the pieces into the balloon. We stretched the mouth of the balloon over the mouth of the bottle and tipped the balloon up so the tablet pieces fell into the water. The water started fizzing and the balloon filled up with carbon dioxide.
This was because the air bubbles bounced up from the water into the balloon. We changed the variables to 4 seltzer tablets and 2 in. of hot water. The balloon blew up bigger and faster than before. The video I posted is when we had hot water and 4 tablets.
